Improved technologies
When a specialist gain a improved technologies, he can't change it for the rest of it career. This improvement represent a lifetime of study and research. The specialist adventurer make most of his research in ship travel, when his group take breaks and so on. The specialist is considered a genious in technologies and don't have to spend years in a lab to discovers these improvement. Still, the charactater is encourage to roleplay the effort of the specialist in his research.
Computer expertise
The specialist is very proficient in computer technologies. He can now Conduct complex search, write program, alter program, break computer security and operate remote with a DC of more then 20 with the computer use skills. Others characters without this ability can't.
Starting feats
The specialist begins play with the following feats:
Weapon Group Proficiency (simple weapons)
Weapon group proficiency (blaster pistols)
Armor Proficiency (light).
Research
The specialist had a knack for finding technical information of all types. Starting at 2nd level, he gets to add his specialist level to any knownledge check whenever he searches throught databases and other sources when seeking technical information.
Bonus feat
At 3th, 7th, 11th and 15th level, the speacialist gains a bonus feat. This feat must be selected from the following list, and the specialist must meet any prerequisites.
Armor proficiency, Gearhead, Skill emphasis, Starship operation, Spacer, Surgery, Weapon group proficiency, Zero-G Training.
Improved personnal technologies - Level 1
The specialist is very skills in technologies and discover a way to improve his equipement. He can choose from the following improvement.

Improve Pistol
Improve pistol damage by one dice and give a bonus of +2 to attack rolls. For exemple he can improve his laser pistol from 2d8 to 3d8.

Improve Armor
Improve armor bonus by +2.

Improve Equipement
Improve a piece of equipement, like a computer, scanner or other that give a +4 skills bonus that stack with the equipement bonus.

When the specialist gain this improvement, he can only maintain one piece of equipement per ability. It need constant maintenance who consume a great deal of time and effort. For exemple if he gain improve pistol and improve armor later, he can only maintain one armor and one pistol at this level of improvement. He can choose to give this equipement to a friend or a fellow group member, but only him can do the maintenance and keep this improved equipement in good shape.
Improved ship technologies - Level 1
The specialist is very skills in technologies and discover a way to improve one ship. He can choose from the following improvement.

Improve Shield
He can improve the shield of one ship by 25 % round down.

Improve Hull
He can improve the hull resistance of one ship by 25 % round down.

Improve Speed
He can improve the speed of one ship by 25 % round down.

Improve fire control
Improve the fire control equipement of all weapon by +2.

When the specialist gain this improvement, he can only maintain one ship with this new ability. It need constant maintenance who consume a great deal of time and effort. He can choose to work on the ship of someone else, but only him can do the maintenance and keep this improved equipement in good shape.
Improved personnal technologies - Level 2
The specialist is very skills in technologies and discover a way to improve his equipement. He can choose from the following improvement.

Improve Rifle
Improve rifle damage by one dice and give a bonus of +2 to attack rolls. For exemple he can improve his laser rifle from 3d8 to 4d8.

Improve Armor
Improve armor bonus by +4. This ability doesn't stack with the improve armor level 1. He must have selected the improve armor level 1 to select this improvement.

Improve Heavy weapon
Improve rifle damage by one dice. For exemple he can improve his laser heavy repeatinge-web from 4d8 to 5d8 and give a bonus of +2 to attack rolls.

Improve Explosif
Improve up to 4 explosive device by 2 dice. For exemple he can improve a thermal detonator from 8d6+6 to 10d6+6 or a Grenade shrapnel from 5d6 to 7d6. He can replace the explosive when use, but can't have more then 4 improve explosif at the same time.

This ability have the same restriction of the level 1 ability.
Improved ship technologies - Level 2
The specialist is very skills in technologies and discover a way to improve one ship. He can choose from the following improvement.

Improve Weapon
He can improve one type of a ship weapon by one dice. For example he can improve all laser canon from 6d10x2 to 7d10x2.

Improve Shield
He can improve the shield of one ship by 50 % round down. This ability don't stack with the level 1 ability. He must have selected the improve shield level 1 to select this improvement.

Improve Defense
He can improve the defense of one ship by +2.

This ability have the same restriction of the level 1 ability.
